Father Brian O' Toole, pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart schools in Gardner; Jim Conry, headmaster of St. Bernard Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg; Dr. Delma Josephson, superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Worcester, and John Ginnity, principal of St. Anthony Elementary School in Fitchburg, at a taping for "Freedom Means..." Worcester Diocese Catholic School Students Feel Safer at School than the National Average
Students who feel safe and respected at school are more likely to be engaged in learning and able to pursue their goals. Student safety has always been a priority for our Catholic schools. Recently our schools took part in The Million Voice Project (sponsored by the Pearson Foundation), a national survey for students in grades 6-12 that evaluates school climate from the perspective of students. In all statements regarding student safety and respect, our Catholic school students testified to an experience of school that feels safer and is more respectful than the national average.
