June 9, 2017, WORCESTER, MA -- Most Reverend Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester, announced the following 23 priest assignments which will take effect July 1, 2017 unless otherwise noted.

Three priests have been granted Retirement status and one priest will be a Senior Priest:
Rev. Raymond M. Goodwin, who has been Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Milford will have Retired Priest status with residence in St. John, Guardian of our Lady Parish, Clinton.
Rev. Joseph J. Jurgelonis, who has been Pastor of Annunciation Parish in Gardner, will retire.
Rev. Dennis J. O’Brien, currently the Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake, Leominster will retire for medical reasons and will reside at St. Mary Parish, Uxbridge.
Rev. Joseph A. Marcotte, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Dudley will have Senior Priest status and will be assigned to Blessed Sacrament Parish, Worcester.
Six Current pastors are moving to a new or an additional parish:
Rev. C. Michael Broderick, who has been Pastor of St. Patrick Parish, Rutland will be Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Leominster.
Rev. Kenneth R. Cardinale, who has been Pastor of St. Mary Parish in North Grafton and Administrator of St. Philip Parish in Grafton will become the Pastor of St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge.
Rev. H. Edward Chalmers, current Pastor, St. Stephen Parish in Worcester will become Pastor, Prince of Peace Parish, Princeton.
Rev. Peter J. Joyce, currently the Pastor of St. John Paul II Parish in Southbridge will be Pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Milford.
Rev. Steven M. LaBaire will be the Pastor of St. Stephen Parish in Worcester while remaining Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Worcester.
Rev. Leo-Paul LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Fitchburg will be Pastor of St. Mary Parish, North Grafton and Administrator ??of St. Philip Parish, Grafton.
Five priests have been made pastors:
Rev. John F. Hamm, who has been Administrator of St. Denis Parish in Ashburnham, has been named their Pastor.
Rev. Stephen E. Lundrigan has completed Graduate Studies while in residence at St. Cecilia Parish, Leominster. He will be the Pastor of Annunciation Parish in Gardner.
Rev. Michael J. Sheridan, who has been on Medical Leave of Absence since assisting at St. Anne Parish in Southborough in 2015, will be the Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Dudley.
Rev. Jonathan J. Slavinskas, who has been the Administrator of Our Lady of Providence Parish, Worcester has been named their Pastor.
Rev. Patrick Ssekyole, who has been Temporary Catholic Chaplain with residence at St. George Parish, Worcester will be the Pastor of Holy Cross Parish, E. Templeton and St. Martin Mission, Otter River.
Two priests have been named Administrators:
Rev. James M. Boland, currently serving as Associate Pastor at St. Luke Parish in Westborough will become the Administrator of St. Patrick Parish in Rutland.
Rev. Juan S. Ramirez, who has been Associate Pastor at St. John, the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton has been named Administrator of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Fitchburg.
Four priests have been named Associate Pastors:
Rev. Andres A. Araque, will be an Associate Pastor at St. Stephen Parish, Worcester, while remaining Associate Pastor at St. Peter Parish, Worcester.
Rev. Eric K. Asante, currently the Chaplain for African Ministry as well as Administrator of Prince of Peace Parish in Princeton will be the Associate Pastor at St. Cecilia Parish, Leominster.
Rev. Henry Ramirez, newly ordained in June, will be Associate Pastor at St. John, Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton, effective July 21, 2017.
Rev. Joseph Rice, who has been serving as Temporary Associate Pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Worcester, will be Associate Pastor of St. Luke Parish, Westborough.
Two priests have been assigned to Specialized Ministry:
Rev. Enoch Kyeremateng, a priest from Ghana who has been pursuing Graduate Studies in Worcester will be Chaplain to Diocesan African Ministry with residence at Immaculate Conception Parish, Worcester.
Rev. Marcin Nowicki, current Pastor of Holy Cross Parish, E. Templeton and St. Martin Mission, Otter River is being assigned to Military Chaplain, Archdiocese of the Military Services.
