May 31, 2016, WORCESTER, MA – The Office for Vocations has announced that on
Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 am Most Rev. Robert J. McManus, Bishop of Worcester will ordain Diego Buritica and Wilmar Ramos to the Priesthood. The Liturgy of Ordination will take place at the Cathedral of St. Paul, corner of Chatham and High Streets, Worcester to which the public is invited. The Liturgy will be streamed LIVE on the internet and a link is available on the homepage of worcesterdiocese.org. It will also be archived for later viewing.
Diego Buritica was born in Medellin, Colombia in 1975. His parish is St. Mary, Shrewsbury. He studied at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Pontifical University), Colombia; Holy Name of Jesus House of Studies in Worcester; studied English at Clark University, and is currently at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD. He completed summer assignments at St. Mary Parish, Shrewsbury. He will celebrate his first Mass as principal celebrant on Sunday, June 5 at 11 am at Saint Mary Church, Shrewsbury.
Wilmar
Ramos was born in 1988 in Puerto Merizalde, Colombia and his home parish is St. John Paul II, Southbridge. He studied at Seminario Mayor Arquidiocesano San Pedro Apostal (Archdiocesan Major Seminary of St. Peter the Apostle) in Cali, Colombia; Holy Name of Jesus House of Studies in Worcester; Clark University; and St. Mary’s Seminary & University, Baltimore, MD. He has completed summer Assignments at St. John Paul II Parish, Southbridge and Our Lady of the Lake Parish, Leominster. He will celebrate his first Mass as principal celebrant on Sunday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Church, Southbridge.
